modern scroll 2.4.1

As promised, here's the little polishing update  …

I have two pieces of good news and one of bad news:

good: I investigated the "bar jumps to top" issue and I know what's causing it now
bad: I had to blind fix again since I still don't have a trackpad
good: I'm going to buy a new ultrabook with touchpad and touchscreen in two weeks. As I'm going to be able to test these kind of issues by myself then, fixes will be faster and I might as well be able to improve and fine-tune those ways of scrolling

Get modern scroll 2.4.1

Changelog:

new: border settings affect scroll buttons, too (thx Dimitri for reporting)
fix: modern scroll doesn't work on some websites (thx André, jonastheroman & orhano for reporting)

  • the reason: page's dimensions are miscalculated – so small that no bars would be necessary
  • there are still some sites without interface – those are caused by ad-blockers!

fix: scroll bar momentarily jumps to top/bottom during scrolling (thx Cryio, André & orhano for reporting)

  • the bars are slightly blinking now; I'll take care of this in a follow-up release

Why? It already uses the same language Opera itself is using.

  4. that's the problem… lot of users here use the " French or English " version of the browser !! but like to have Arabic version of the extensions. It's confusing to use Opera RTL.

But that's not modern-scroll-specific then. You should request Opera to implement a different language for all extensions then…Originally posted by An-dz:

Too bad :down:Originally posted by An-dz:

yes and no. Unfortunately it's not the only site. It's there (in the DOM), but invisible. The custom scrolling functions are working.I do not have the slightest idea what's causing that yet.According to its CSS properties it should be visible…

It doesn't show, but it feels as it's working.

  7. About the jumpy scroll bar. I can't say yet if it happens less often, but it's still there.

It's fixed just as all similar websites in RC2

  10. Christoph, the link you posted crashed Opera 11.64, 12.15 and Firefox 20. It is something wrong with the hyperlinked site?

Hmm. It isn't crashing anymore today. Weird.

    Is it flickering instead?

  14. With the latest update the scroll bar doesn't seem to jump anymore with the mouse wheel.

  15. christoph142 said:

Hmm I feared that.I don't know how to completely fix it yet.But I guess the flickering is better than the jumping bars, isn't it?

  16. Yes, a bit.

  17. As far as I'm concerned, they're both small issues, equally just slightly annoying. I guess it's better.
