I spent quite some time developing this build and made a lot of progress. There’s not too much directly visible to you though since major part is various under-the-hood adjustments and improvements.
Because of those, I’d recommend to uninstall all previous versions of this extension first, restart Opera and then install this one. If you have a lot of rules set up already, you can upgrade, too, but you’ll probably end up with a bit of unnecessary junk storage data.
What’s new (and visible to you) in alpha 5?
- Initial Setup page
You’ll now get forwarded to Download Control’s settings page when you install the extension.
There’s some guidance and instructions (including hints to what’s coming up in first beta) to better understand how this extension works and what it can actually do for you.
- contextMenu settings
as promised, I added settings to switch contextMenu entries on and off. By default, only “open” will be added
- bug fixes
Sounds cool? Test it!
As mentioned above, beta-phase is just around the corner. I’d love to get some feedback from you about features and overall usability 😉
And one distinct question: Did automated default download folder detection work for you? Let me know in comments, please.
