Depends.modern scroll will use as much CPU power during scrolling as it can possibly get to smooth things.So there are two cases:If Opera is already maxed out, there's nothing left to work with and it's gonna be jerky (like everything else in Opera).If Opera isn't, modern scroll will probably max it out but that will make it as smooth as possible. 💡
The continuous updating of the scrollbar position (as you mentioned in the tooltip) really messes up the performance of Opera's smooth scrolling. The thing is, I want smooth scrolling, but I also want a scrollbar that is continuously updated. Can you not implement a time limit in between redraws? The scrollbar technically doesn't have to update as fast as possible. Only just enough times per second so that it looks like it's updating constantly.
That explanation only applies if you disabled the "custom functions". Otherwise, there is not a single calculation involved during scrolling anymore. Instead you see a "fake" update of the scrollbar, which is precalculated before the animation starts!The impact on performance is minimal and it should be hardly noticeable.If it is "messed up", it's either implicated by your expectations or your PC is really weak. In this case I'm sorry, but I'm an extension developer, not a magician :wizard: 😆 If you disabled the "custom functions" and use Opera's default instead, you have to live with its limitations…Rest assured, that I'm constantly trying to improve performance, though!btw: it doesn't matter at all if you enable "smooth scrolling" in Opera or not if you are using the custom scrolling functions, because that setting isn't used by modern scroll.

Thought I'd share some screenshots of the 'background bars' from the overlay scrollbars in Sublime Text 2. Well, in some cases people ended up with two installations working (or better hindering each other) in parallel. But those are rare phenomena.However, you do not get updates automatically out of the extension catalog with the github version.
I found that upgrading to 2.1 from the Opera catalog, while having the github 2.0 version running, made saving custom settings not possible, even after uninstalling v2.0. The 'info' tooltips also don't seem to appear on hover.Restarted Opera, but saving and tooltips still not working. Not a huge issue as MS still functions well but I just thought I'd let you know.Another quirk I noticed is that pressing the Enter/Return key when typing in a name for the configuration creates a new line which can't be backspaced up again. Unsure if this affects the name when saving as I can't test it currently. I was trying the Enter key to see if I could save a configuration that way.
